Monday March 18th 6:00 pm at the nə́c̓aʔmat ct Strathcona Library 730 East Hastings Street
On Monday March 18th, the East Van Workers Assembly will be watching and discussing the film Finally Got the News, about the Dodge Revolutionary Union Movement and the League of Revolutionary Black Workers, and the struggles their organizers led against racist economic segregation driven by the imperialist profit imperative, and toward a union movement that truly represented all workers.
Join us to watch this engaging film and discuss its ongoing relevance today!
The next event in this discussion series will be Monday April 15th as we read Chapter two from Detroit: I Do Mind Dying, and discuss: how race and sex/gender are used to divide workers and provide cheap labour, and the role and responsibility of revolutionaries in struggling against chauvinism so as to build class unity.
